Get Active with Serve-a-thon to Support Chicago Cares

Chicago Cares’ largest fundraiser, the17^th Annual Chicago Cares Serve-a-thon ,takes place on Saturday, June 12. Volunteers, leaders, and staff have been working hard to spread the word, recruit 6,000 volunteers and get every Chicagoan excited about the city’s largest day of service.

Every donation – no matter the size – makes a difference to Chicago Cares.

Volunteer and take the $150 Challenge

Serve-a-thon is NOT just for corporate volunteers – we need all Chicagoans to step up and serve our city’s schools. Register for one of the Chicago Cares volunteer teams and take the $150 Challenge. Raise donations from your family and friends to help Chicago Cares continue our innovative and high-impact community programs [215 every month!]

Be a Leader by signing up as a Project Site Manager

With the help and support of dedicated Project Site Managers at our project sites, Serve-a-thon is able to make a significant impact to better our city schools. On this big day Project Site Managers are provided with the tools and skills to manage the large scale projects being held all over the city of Chicago. Volunteers at the site are then able to concentrate on bettering the schools and making brighter futures for the youth of Chicago.

Be a Roadie or Bus Ambassador

Chicago Cares has two specialty roles where there is a need for volunteers: Roadies and Bus Ambassadors. Roadies will be most active at the kick-off event where their tasks may include distributing lunches and goodies bags, or being a runner for our registration tables. Bus Ambassadors will engage the volunteers on the bus to and from the project site. These roles are critical in keeping the volunteers excited and day moving smoothly.

Sponsor a Volunteer

Chicago Cares will engage over 6,000 volunteers on June 12. Even if you can’t join us on that day, you can support their work by sponsoring a volunteer. You can also sponsor the Chicago Cares staff team in their efforts to raise money for the programs they manage and help sustain.
